Essential Reality

Essential Reality

Back in the 90's someone said "This world that we live in is so full of visual distractions and pleasantries that it can dull our intuition and spiritual senses". Well, that was 1990, the day of yesteryear. The two thousand 20s have an entirely different modality to keep us off balance, it's called virtual reality. Don't get me wrong I don't judge technological advances and I know that all of them have their place to make things better, easier, more proficient in our lives. However in a world of virtual realities and alternative realities many of us have lost that understanding of essential realities. I called them essential because that's what they are, they are a constant. Something to keep us balanced, sober, like a GPS keep you on the path regardless of detours when driving.

A simplified example is the number 2. I personally speak several languages. Besides English I know some Sicilian, some Spanish, a little Thai, and even a few words of Albanian. With all these languages, they each have a different material symbol that represents the number 2. Yet, the quantity of the number 2 does not change from language to language, it stays constant and secure. Even if 2000 years from now assuming all those languages have been washed away, the number 2 will still be the same quantity no mater what material symbol is used to represents it. Time will not take away nor add unto it. It is Eternally 2. So It is also essentially the same in all realities.

A good man is just that, a good man. He is labeled a good man based on the content and quality of his character. Regardless of the material symbol that represents his physical form. So, whether he's a hunchback or an athlete, good is still good. It is the same on the flip side of that coin, because the terrible man is just that, a terrible man.

He could be handsome, wealthy, charming, debonair, and even be liked by many in its community, in other words a finely good-looking material symbol. Yet his value does not change based on the image that his symbol represents. It is a tale as old as time when teachers told us to "never judge a book by its cover". The point of this platitude that we've all heard two numerous times to count is that the cover has nothing to do with the contents of the book.

Let me put it in a different way that will sit on your mind with a bit more gravitas. If you could only choose three books to read for the rest of your life, would the cover matter much? I'm willing to bet that you would dive deep into the table of contents and the index of each book to validate is value before choosing it. ignoring the cover altogether. the point here is that we have gotten so far from essential reality and trapped in the subconscious autopilot of decentralized propaganda also known as social media, that few people even know how to recognize quality much less how to count to the number 2 anymore. Most don't even know what they really want.

Today, Women are deciding not to have children because of rampant YouTube testimonials given by incapable and unqualified men attesting to their lack of desire for a woman that has children. The women, never considering for a moment that a man that really loves her and has deep affection for her won't really care about her having a child or two or even three. Today we often desire to fulfill the de facto fantasies of other individuals that aren't even sure what they want in life yet. The essential reality is that we need each other, and truthfully, we want each other. The sooner we can purge our thoughts, the sooner we can clear our minds and get back to the reality that produces something real.
